Samuel Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reacted to reports that President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to renovate and complete the John Evans Atta Mills Presidential Library in Cape Coast.

In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, 24th July, 2025, Mr. Anyidoho praised President Mahama for showing commitment to the legacy of the late President Atta Mills.

He stated that he would like the chance to meet Mahama personally and thank him for making the promise.

His post reads, “President Mahama, respectfully, if you allow me to meet you, I will thank you for pledging to renovate and complete this project.”

This comment comes shortly after Ahema Quarshie, sister of the late President Mills, appealed to President Mahama during a ceremony to mark the 13th anniversary of Mills’ death. She asked the president to take steps to refurbish the abandoned presidential library named after her brother.

Mr. Anyidoho, who once served as Director of Communications at the Presidency during Mills’ time in office, has always expressed deep love and respect for the late president. He has previously voiced concern about the poor state of the library and called for efforts to preserve Mills’ memory.
