
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) successfully held its 1st Ordinary Governing Board Orientation and Meeting from 19th–20th August 2025 at the AH Hotel, Accra.
Led by Board Chairman Prof. Vincent Assanful, members came together to engage in strategic discussions aimed at advancing curriculum development, assessment, and education reform in Ghana.
Highlights included:
An insightful orientation by Prof. K.T. George Oduro who clarified the governance responsibilities of board members and emphasized integrity, non-partisanship, and collective decision-making.
Presentations by representatives from the Ministry of Finance shared critical insights on financial management and the Public Services Commission, on good corporate governance, ethical leadership, and accountability.
The Director-General Prof. Samuel Bekoe also outlined his vision for the Council. Each directorate also had the opportunity to share their work, ensuring the Board is fully informed on the council’s operations.
Prof. Assanful reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to partnering with management to deliver on NaCCA’s mission.
This meeting marks a major milestone—the first official engagement between the new Governing Board and Management—paving the way for collaborative leadership and impactful change.
